Today Marcus was dressed in one of my favorite outfits (a hand-me-down from Owen) and I couldn't resist taking lots of pictures of all his cuteness!
He also wore his new shoes today. When I saw these with the concrete mixer on them, I thought they were so adorable. Maybe that's because there is lots of talk about trucks in our house with Owen. The concrete mixer happens to be one of his favorites...I sure hope Marcus likes trucks as well!
Marcus got a little tummy time too.

Bedford Farms
As a special treat, we took the boys to Bedford Farms to get ice cream. It's Daddy's favorite. How rude of them to eat that ice cream in front of Marcus without offering him any!
Trip to the Zoo
With Daddy being home from work, we decided to take a trip to the Stone Zoo. Marcus did great getting escorted around in the Bjorn. I think he slept the entire time (it's a super small zoo).

One Month Checkup
I took Marcus in today for his 1 month checkup. Everything went great, except for the part where he baptized the nurse! He weighed 9 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 20 inches, so he's definitely getting bigger! The head circumference was 37.6 cm (I'm just writing that down for record sake, I don't know that it means all that much!)

One Month Old
The first month has flown by since Marcus has come into our lives. For me, there is a lot of joy in no longer being pregnant and finally getting to hold my precious, little man. He eats well and sleeps a lot. While waking up every 3 hours at night to feed him is tiresome, I am very thankful that he always goes right back to sleep. We are adjusting to having another member of the family and all the fun that comes with having an infant. Marcus is such a good baby and seems so easy. We have loved showing him off to family and friends over the past month. We are so happy to have him and look forward to watching him grow.
Milestones:
- Holds my gaze.
- Turns his head to the sound of my voice.
- Pulls his head away from my shoulder.

Baby Bjorn
I dug out our Baby Bjorn and strapped Marcus in for the first time today. I'm not sure what he made of it, but I love being able to have him snuggled close to me while having my hands free. Owen wasn't a big fan because he couldn't jump on me, but we'll get used to it...hopefully!

Growing
Marcus is growing so quickly. I think I say this to myself everyday. He was so skinny and wrinkly when he was born. He is swiftly putting on weight and trading in the wrinkles for baby fat.

Awake and Alert
The times when Marcus is awake and alert seem to be so minimal right now...I'm sure that will soon change. But for now I'll just enjoy every tiny little detail about him.
I even adore his long, skinny feet!

Bounce Away
Today we went on an expedition in search of a new bouncy chair. We were pretty hard on our old one, which still works, but I thought it would be nice to have one upstairs and one downstairs. Marcus took to it right away.

First Bath
Today Marcus got his first bath. There's no need to discuss how nice and relaxing he found it...let's just say that we had to fill up his tub with water twice!
The tiny baby towel looks so big.
All clean and ready for bed!

Today the boys took their first car ride together. Marcus got lots of looks and reassurance from his big brother!

Happy Easter
Today the Easter Bunny came and left lots of goodies for Marcus.
It was all so exhausting...so Marcus did lots of sleeping!

Clean, Clean
Even though his belly button cord has not fallen off yet, Marcus enjoyed a nice "wipe down" bath this evening.

Park Visit
The weather is absolutely wonderful, so we decided to take a walk to a near by park. It seems weird to be a family with 2 strollers now.
Marcus was a doll and slept the entire time.

Meeting Grandma Kuder
Grandma Kuder arrived today and got to meet Marcus for the first time. She had been planning this visit for a while and was so disappointed that she didn't make it in time for Marcus' birth. At least we have her help for the next few weeks as we adjust to our growing family!
First Doctor's Visit
This morning we took Marcus to visit Dr. Palant, our pediatrician. Marcus was alert and so great during the whole exam (with the exception of peeing on mommy when the diaper came off for the weight check!). We weren't super clear on what Marcus' weight was when we left the hospital. I was told that he had lost 10 oz. but we couldn't find any indication of his weight on the discharge papers that the hospital pediatrician had given to us. We just went with thought that he was 5 lbs. 15 oz. on Tuesday when we left the hospital and today he weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. The thought being that he was on the upswing.
Dr. Palant was also at a loss for what the lesions under his bottom lip where. We even took a photograph for him to pass along to his colleagues at Children's Hospital. Like us, the doctor wasn't that concerned about it since Marcus was healthy and unaffected by it. It was kind of funny that Dr. Palant wanted to see us again in 4 days for a weight check...something that is usually just done with a nurse. All these doctors seemed a bit excited to see an issue that they don't have an answer for!
