Marcus' First Parade

It's Memorial Day, and with Grandma and Grandpa Wade visiting we decided to check out Lexington's Memorial Day Parade. There's not a whole lot to say about it...other than how short it was, but we did get to see some Minutemen march by.
Marcus just enjoyed being outside and hanging out with everyone.

Smiling Marcus

Marcus has started smiling - the most adorable, intentional smiles. They just melt your heart. I find them to come really easily and fitting to his laid back personality. Such a happy baby!

Two Months Old

Our little baby is growing fast…too fast! This month has marked the big milestone of smiling…big, huge intentional smiles. There is nothing better than a smiling baby with that adorable gummy grin. I get addicted to them at this age because they are so easy to elicit. I value and treasure each and every smile as Marcus’ little way of communicating.

Milestones:

  • Smiling!
  • Is increasing his tolerance for “tummy time”.
  • Shows signs of wanting to hold his head up.
  • Has these funny self-expressions…pursing his lips, widening his eyes, furrowing his brow…what are you trying to tell us Marcus?
  • Is very alert to objects or faces right in front of him.

2 Month Checkup

A double whammy with the band-aids because Marcus had to get shots today. I am a terrible mommy because I actually double booked myself...Marcus and I, both had doctor's appointments at the same time today. So Daddy had to take Marcus for his checkup. I wish I had been there to hear everything the doctor said, but I'm glad I had to miss watching him get his shots. I should be used to it, but I'm not. I hate it all...the needles, the reaction...it breaks my heart because I feel so helpless.

But here are Marcus' stats:
Weight: 13 lb. 3 oz.
Length: 22.5 inches

He's growing big and healthy as far as I can tell. It was hard to get Daddy to be forthcoming with anything the doctor said, so I'll just go on believing Marcus is perfect!

Family Tradition

Marcus has been happily sleeping next to me every night in my grandmother's little crib. Marcus is part of the 4th generation that has used this crib. I hope that some day his kids will get to use it!

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day I wanted to take the boys to Drumlin Farm to see the farm animals. While it was a bit chilly out, at least I had Marcus snuggled against me to keep me/him warm!

Marcus Goes to Boston

We took Aunt Cat downtown to the North End for a yummy dinner, and I couldn't resist strolling Marcus over to the Paul Revere status to snap a photo. This is his first time visiting Boston so I had to mark the occasion some how!

And no trip downtown is complete without a stop at Mike's Pastry for some canolis. Marcus is in for a treat when he is old enough!

Tummy Napping

Yes, Marcus is suppose to sleep on his back...but he fell asleep on his tummy and looked so precious.

Playing at the Park

It was a beautiful day so we headed to a fun park in Arlington. Marcus was happy to chill on a park bench with me and eat and nap.

Aunt Cat played photographer and got a family shot. It's hard to get us all in the same spot for any amount of time!

Aunt Cat Visits

Aunt Cat has come to spend a week with us and she was so excited to finally get to meet Marcus.

Lots and Lots of Photos

I find myself taking lots and lots of photos of Marcus. I don't want to forget how tiny and precious he is at this age. I get all kinds of funny faces as a result.

Marcus always seems to have a serious look on his face...I can't tell if he is happy, fascinated, sad, annoyed or what. Since he doesn't cry much at all, I'll just go on believing he's having a good time and doesn't mind all the noise and antics that go on around here.
